Meet Matt Piercy

Matt Piercy is a second-generation racer from Conover, NC. Just minutes from the famed Hickory Motor Speedway, Piercy grew up trackside as his father, Kevin Piercy, raced Late Models & sold race tires before the elder Piercy became the Hickory Motor Speedway General Manager in 2009. Piercy started racing quarter midgets at the age of 10 in 2006 and made the jump to Limited Late Models in 2010 at 16 years of age. After numerous poles & wins in Limited Late Models over the next couple years, Piercy made the move to NASCAR Late Model Stocks & won the Hickory Motor Speedway Track Championship in 2015. Piercy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNC Charlotte and is currently an engineer for General Motors NASCAR program. Piercy was the 2012 recipient of the four-year Alan Kulwicki Memorial Scholarship & Buick Achievers Scholarship at UNC Charlotte. Piercy currently serves as an Engineer for General Motors at the GM Technical Center in Concord, North Carolina
